In accordance with the IT Policy the Government of kerala, a Technical Committee was constituted Vide GO (RT) No.8191/Fin dated 14.10.2008 for the computerisation of the Kerala State Audit Department . As per the decision of the Technical Committee , It was decided to develop a web based software buit on open technologies designed to provide an end to end functionality for managing the complete procedures of Audit ranging from planning of Audit, its execution, Generating the Audit report, Further actions taken based on the observations of the Audit Report and finally the closing of the Audit report. For the development of the Software, Govt vide GO(RT) 1366/2011/FIN dated 24/02/2011 accorded Administrative sanction for the developement of Web based Software built on open Technologies . M/s. KELTRON was entrusted with the development of Audit Information Management System Software [AIMS] . The software was developed and implemented in three phases.

AIMS is accessible online through the URL aims.ksad.kerala.gov.in. The software after security audit by Se-MT is currently hosted in State Data Center, Government of Kerala.
